Right from arrival, it was clear that the service was not only professional but also personal. It’s a difficult balance to strike, but they manage it here. The staff noticed us, remembered our requests, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another room number.
One of the absolute highlights of the trip was breakfast.
It’s easy to use superlatives when talking about hotel breakfasts, but here they were truly justified. The buffet offered an impressive selection of both Asian and international dishes, all presented with care and of high quality. Whether you prefer fresh fruit, freshly baked pastries, a classic egg dish, or want to start your day with Asian flavours, there was something to tempt you. It became one of those breakfasts that you could happily linger over.
When the Singapore heat made itself felt, the hotel’s pool became a natural gathering place.
The generously sized sun loungers invited long, relaxing moments between all the city’s experiences. A sense of calm prevailed here, in sharp contrast to the intense pace of the metropolis just a few minutes away. It was easy to settle down with a book or simply enjoy the view and feel that the holiday had truly begun.
Furthermore, the hotel’s location is hard to beat.
Staying right by the river offers a special feeling. Morning walks along the quay, the evening lights reflecting in the water, and the proximity to some of Singapore’s most interesting neighbourhoods meant we often chose to walk instead of taking a taxi. The city’s pulse was always around the corner, yet the hotel simultaneously became a peaceful oasis to return to.
One evening, we chose to have dinner in our room.
After a long day full of impressions, it felt like the obvious choice. Room service delivered quickly, the food maintained high restaurant quality, and everything was presented with the same care we had experienced throughout the rest of our stay. It was further proof that the hotel does not compromise on quality, regardless of where the guest chooses to dine.
It’s not really a single detail that makes the stay memorable.
It’s the overall experience.
From the friendly service and exquisite breakfast to the pool area, room service, and the fantastic riverside location. Everything works together to create that feeling characteristic of truly great hotels – that even before departure, you start thinking about when you’ll return.
This is exactly how a hotel should feel. And that’s why The Peninsula Singapore becomes one of those hotels we gladly return to.
